Propp Exam Question

To what extent does Propp's character theory fit the LEGO movie poster campaign? (5)

Propp's character theory doesn't necessarily fit the LEGO movie poster campaign due to the use of facial expressions and the layout of the posters. For example, Emmet's face dominates most of the poster, which does indicate that he plays an important part in the movie. However, his facial expressions connote panic and danger, which whilst implying there's a lot of action, doesn't necessarily present a 'hero' status, as he looks both petrified and in danger. On the other hand, the 'villain' character does fit the Propp Theory in Lord Business's poster. His facial expression is angry, menacing and domineering, which signifies a villainous role. Lastly, the use of costume fits the Propp Theory as the villain role further fits with his black and red clothes and accessories, in addition to the sharp edges on his helmet intended to be intimidating to audiences.
